Mehmet
Kaya

IN THE ROLE OF – KING HENRY II
With the influence of his favourite singers like Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio, Jorn Lande and Jeff Scott Soto, Mehmet started to sing in several bands after he moved to Istanbul for university education. This led him into a journey of a balanced life between his day job in an international retail company and his bands. By time, his wide range and diverse voice helped him make a name among the heavy metal scene in Istanbul. In 2005, he started to work with Cem Köksal, who afterwards worked with Joe Lynn Turner and Mats Leven.
He is still working with Cem, leaving behind countless gigs and an album of 5 songs, 3 of which were sung by Mats Leven and 2 of which by Mehmet. In the meantime, he had the chance to share the stage with these 2 astonishing singers. In the heavy metal scene of Istanbul, Mehmet has faced a big audience by the help of his 10 year long Friday night gigs in Taksim Dorock Heavy Metal Club, which helped him a lot to be recognized by other musicians.
In 2010, Mehmet joined Saints ‘N’ Sinners, turkish heavy metal band and the band released their first album “Saints ‘N’ Sinners” with him. The album had received very well critics and considered as one of the best english heavy metal albums made in Turkey. The band played in major festivals in Istanbul (including Scorpions farewell gig in 2010 in Küçükçiftlik Park) and Bulgaria (Sofia and Kazanlak). The band is working on their second album and waiting for upcoming gigs in Bulgaria Greece. Mehmet had worked with a lot of cover bands in this time period as well, working with famous turkish musicians (like Cenk Eroğlu). He also recently joined a turkish rock band “Pert” and he’s working with the band for their first album.
