Canadian singer Alannah Myles
released her first album, simply titled "Alannah Myles", in 1989.
The album was a huge success and became the biggest-selling debut
album ever in Canada, and it was also very successful worlwide,
thanks to the classic single "Black Velvet" (which is said to be about Elvis), which entered
the Billboard charts at #1. Alannah also recieved a grammy for
"Best Rock Female Vocal Performance", and she toured with artists
like Robert Plant and Tina Turner. The album "Rockinghorse" was
released in 1992, which was followed by "Alannah" in 1995. She also
recorded a duet with Italian singer Zucchero, "What Are We Waiting
For", which was featured in the movie "Prince Valiant". In 1998
Alannah released "Arival", an album which by many is considered
"her best album yet". The compilation album "The very best of
Alannah Myles" was released in 1999.
On "Nostradamus", Alannah Myles sings the part of Nostradamus'
second wife, Anne Gemelle. |
